Cruise Ship TerminalsIn the last decade, the international trade had an annual increase of 21%.The sea ports are the entry and exit doors for passengers and merchandise, channeling 70% of the international trade. Thanks to its strategic location, it acts as a Hub (transship) for trading merchandise with Central and South America and the western coast of North America. The infrastructure is in conditions for receiving: first and second generation container ships, bulk-carriers of up to 30,000 tons, Roll on Roll off of up to 30,000 tons, and cruise ships of 115,000 TBR since the terminal has a 33 feet draft, in addition to a storage area of 2300m2, a shelter of 630 m2 as well as a 22,300 m2 in patios. In Puerto Chiapas, the tourist will encounter first level services such as Internet, telephones for international phone calls, car rental, tour guides, tour operators, tourism information, international restaurant, bar, amber and jade jewelry store, as well as variety of shops. Tourists also have the option of visiting the restaurant and swim in the pool, as well as walk around the commercial shops and buy many different chiapanecan products or go on a tour to destinations of interest such as the Laguna de lo Pozuelos, Playa Linda, or visit the city of Tapachula, the Ruta del Café (Coffee Route), the Archeological Zone of Izapa and Tuxtla Chico and take the already famous Artesian Chocolate Tour. Puerto Chiapas also offers many embarkation services such as provisioning, water and fuel supply, garbage collection, among others. Coming soon is a tourism marina that will enable provisioning small boats (Yachts), since it’s a perfect haven.
